OUR STORY

Vietnam is always known as a symbolic tropical country in global agriculture thanks to its abundant nature, fertile soil, and favorable climate. Starting from a wet rice civilization, Vietnamese people have extensive experience in farming, and combined with favorable climatic conditions, they can produce the best agricultural products.

After years of war, Vietnam focused on economic development, particularly agricultural economics. However, many difficulties still affect the lives of farmers, such as the situation of "good harvests lead to low prices, high prices result in poor harvests." Additionally, whenever neighboring countries close their borders, many agricultural products like pineapples, dragon fruit, mangoes, lychees, and chilies are stuck, spoiling and causing significant waste and sorrow. Meanwhile, many good-quality and affordable agricultural products and nutritious tropical fruits cannot reach consumers who favor them around the world.

Recognizing this, TMICORP was established with the desire to change the current situation and bring a better life to farmers. With a determination to develop the agricultural processing industry, we are ambitious to spread the essence of Vietnamese agriculture far and wide across the world.

It's undeniable that fresh fruits and vegetables provide excellent nutritional content, supplementing essential nutrients for human health. However, in a study on why people do not include essential fruits and vegetables in their meals, 44% said that fruit is too expensive and 35% said that vegetables are too expensive, particularly noting that fresh fruits and vegetables are considered the most expensive, while frozen and canned options are preferred because they are less costly. (*) We can imagine what the situation would be like in countries that are unable to grow many fruits and vegetables for consumption.

To bring natural nutrients to a lot of customers in need, many countries around the world are developing processed fruits and vegetables thanks to the advancement of industry and technology. After researching and learning, we found that there are five common methods of processing fruits and vegetables worldwide that are carefully studied and most widely applied: canning, drying, pickling, salting, and freezing. However, there are issues of nutrition and additives raising.

We delved deeper into global research. Studies on processed fruits suggest that nutritional products are no less effective than fresh fruits. Specifically, dried fruits are an excellent source of phenolic compounds that contribute to enhancing the antioxidant capacity of fruits and vegetables. In fact, the antioxidant capacity of dried fruits is significantly higher than that of fresh fruits because antioxidants are concentrated into a smaller volume during the dehydration process. (**) When looking into canned fruits, buyers who don't purchase canned fruits and vegetables believe that they are less healthy and contain “added preservatives or artificial ingredients”.' In reality, sugar or fruit juice is the main ingredient added to these products as a "natural preservative," keeping them fresh and tasty, without any other added preservatives.

After many years of research, development, and experience, TMICORP has been providing processed fruit and vegetable products using all above five methods from specialized regions in Vietnam, including:

  • Canned pineapple, mango, lychee, longan, mixed fruits, corn, and tomatoes,...
  • Pickled cucumbers and tomatoes,...
  • Dried bananas, mangoes, jackfruit, guava, and dragon fruit,...
  • Frozen items such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, mango, and pineapple,...
  • Various chili sauces, tomato sauces, and other condiments,...
